Open-plan family home
A year-round family house built around a double-height living space, with a steel and timber staircase as the central element.
How we built it
We built a high-performance envelope with underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, then set the staircase and gallery so the volume reads as one room while heat is retained. Weekly photo reports replaced site visits.
Outcome
Handed over on the agreed date with a closed snag list and a heating bill in line with the calculations made at design stage.
